Website backups

Our backup system is one of the things we are proud of.

If something goes wrong on a site — a technical failure on the server, or a mistake by whoever was editing it — we can restore it quickly to the state it was in on any of the previous seven days.

How the backups work

Copies are made intelligently, without putting an unnecessary load on the site. That is what lets us make them every night.

They are stored with the same care: the recent copies live on our own dedicated technical server, and the full set on a third, cloud-based one.

A system this deliberate and this dependable is the product of eighteen years of building and looking after websites.
